Do not get scared on hearing the word ‘dialysis’ for children. Dialysis (both haemodialysis as well as peritoneal dialysis) may be short term or long term. In case of long-term kidney failure, do remember that dialysis is a wonderful bridge, till we can do a kidney transplant. Discuss with the pediatric nephrologist, the advantages of one form of dialysis over the other, before opting for a particular modality.
