Swelling around eyes and over the body can be caused because of various diseases of kidney. These diseases may be associated with a decrease urine output, altered colour of urine. These diseases could be possibly nephrotic syndrome or glomerulonephritis. Typically, the swelling around the eyes is more during morning and decreases as the day passes. It is important that we come to a diagnosis of these diseases with the help of blood and urine tests and occasionally if required a kidney biopsy.
