Kids having kidney stones is not a routine affair. A child with kidney stones needs to be thoroughly evaluated for any underlying disease which is causing the stones. A kidney or a urinary stone however small should not be neglected in children. Usually, stones are detected when a child get sonography done for abdominal pain or occasionally passes red urine. If your child has been detected to have a kidney stone, he / she needs an expert evaluation and monitoring to prevent recurrences of the stone.
